The first is found in Proverbs 14:12, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end leads to death." Now, this passage is not talking about a natural death, it is talking about a spiritual death. You see, you may be going about your life in a way that seems right to you, but is it? Is your way leading you to life or death? (Remember we are talking about spiritual life here, not just a natural existence). Now let us contrast what Jesus said about God's way. In John 14:6 Jesus said this, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Do you see the difference friend? Your way, no matter how true it may seem, is just your idea or opinion of a way to live your life. I hope you can see that any man's way leads away from God and ends in death for eternity. However, a life following Jesus not only leads us in the way of life here on earth, but He also leads us into absolute truth and a life with Him eternally in heaven. When a man, woman, or child places their faith in God's way, (a belief upon His son Jesus' death on the cross for their sins, and His resurrection from the dead) that person comes alive spiritually. That is Good News my friend!
There is one who stands in the way of this Good News and absolute truth. Perhaps, you have not even thought much about this or ever heard about this before. You and I have an enemy who is very slick. He is known as the father of lies; his name is Satan. In one verse Jesus gives another clear contrast of this eternal choice. "In John 10:10 Jesus said this, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Do you see the contrast? Satan is a thief, a killer, and a destroyer! He would lead you to believe that your way is the right way and will save you. However, as I stated earlier, Jesus is the ONLY way. Jesus not only gives life, but He will give you life to the full. Again, that is Good News friend! There is no deep mystery here in these few Bible passages. It is very plain and simple. There are two ways to approach life, your way or God’s way. Which way are you going friend? I hope you choose God’s way because His way will lead you to life now and forever more. I leave you with two more Bible passages which I hope will help you in your decision to trust God and His way. Consider these your bonus verses. The first is found in Isaiah 53:6a “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way;” The second is found in
2 Samuel 22:31, “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless, He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.”
I pray God bless and lead you in the way of His perfect peace!
Blessings my friends
